How Does A PDO Thread Treatment Work?

After numbing the area with local anesthesia for a comfortable experience, the PDO thread is inserted into the tissue for temporary support of the area being treated. Over the next 6 months, the PDO threads dissolve creating collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. The skin becomes thicker, tighter, and smoother, giving a more youthful look that lasts from 12-18 months. Each treatment is tailored to your specific needs.

HOW DOES THE NONSURGICAL FACELIFT WORK?

In about 1-2 hours, our trained staff can provide a non-surgical face or body lift treatment, which is taking the aesthetic world by storm. It rejuvenates, regenerates and improves the structures of the face without the need for surgery. It uses special threads, which are introduced into the skin with a very fine needle, to lift the tissue and improve skin texture.

What Are PDO Threads?

The threads are made of polydioxanone (PDO), the same material that dissolvable sutures are made of. Polydioxanone has been used in surgery for over 35 years, further supporting its safety. At Compass Light, we exclusively use PDO Max threads, which are FDA Cleared in Cannula.


Different lengths of thread are used for different areas of the face. Short strands can be used to treat fine lines around the eyes, while the thicker threads can be placed into the cheek and jawline areas. Over the course of several months, the body naturally absorbs the threads. Threads are extremely versatile and can be placed throughout the face and neck. Dramatic results are often found to lift sagging cheeks, jowls and under chin/neck area.

When Will I See Results?

Research has shown that PDO stimulates something called neocollagenesis, meaning it encourages the production of new collagen formation in the skin. A lifted appearance can be seen immediately following PDO Thread placement. However, the results will continue to improve in the following days and weeks as the PDO threads stimulate this neocollagenesis process within the skin.
